Why Internet is slow?

Generally we get on our nerves when our computer does not work at the speed of our thoughts or mouse movements. We do not know whose fault is it and we think about the whole company that provides our Internet services. Now, we will present you a really useful tool in order to cut short the list of "guilty ones".

Sometimes we complain about our Internet connection being slow: we want to download certain documents, open several windows at the same time, and we think about the company to which we pay for our Internet connection, as well as our server and anyone who has a relationship of some kind with our service. Now, here we tell you about three simple ways of checking speed connection and Internet service provider's quality.

From time to time, we advise you to keep record of your speed connection, and in this way, you'll have a record of the average. And you can also compare averages from one month to the other.
Bear in mind that companies offering broadband Internet have very different services under very similar names.

  • If you want to compare offers or services, we suggest the 2007 ADSL and Cable Speed Test for Spain.

  • Finally, in the following article, published in consumer.es Magazine at Eroski, some pieces of advice are given in order to boost your wireless signal, which sometimes may be the reason for a slow connection:
