SMARTNAV4 is the fourth generation of a mouse that facilitates the use of computers by people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and other diseases that reduce mobility.

With the built-in Dwell Clicking software and a free screen keyboard created by Lake Software, the SMARTNAV4 works through a small adhesive made of reflective material that is placed anywhere on the face and a sensor located above the screen. By moving the head, you can control the pointer on your computer, without using your hands. Therefore, people with ALS can write emails, answer WhatsApp, perform any action on the computer in a totally autonomous way.
The Miquel Valls Catalan Foundation of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (FMQV), with whom iWith.org collaborates, aims to promote all kinds of actions aimed at improving the quality of life of people with ALS and other diseases of motoneurone, as well as of their families. For this reason, among others, at the Bank of Support Products (BPS) they offer, for an unlimited time, the necessary material so that people affected by ALS can live in the most autonomous and with the best possible quality of life.
The BPS of the Miquel Valls Foundation wants to respond to the great need of people with ALS to use these support products, to which not all families have access. It has about 1,200 products, among which communication material such as the SMARTNAV4 mouse.
