Free Software to support education in Bolivia


OTIC is an NGO in Bolivia specialized in IT that does not receive any financing but is very motivated and at the moment is working on free software to support the first, second, third and fifth school grades.


Such software will be offered for free to any institution in Bolivia requiring it. For the time being the NGO works on line and it will soon release its own site.

OTIC was founded the 29th of March of 2005 being its main aim the technological progress of its country, therefore it started to support the technological development of different organizations by making researches and promoting activities involving the use of technology.

Nowadays OTIC is a non-profit organization supporting diverse social groups, trying to increase the use of computing systems within business, institutions, education (at all levels), NGOs and SMEs as well as to help understand the different IT uses.

The project to support its learning in primary school intends to extend a system to every child in every urban school and any social group requiring it as well as reach rural schools in the future. Such system focuses on helping children with developmental speech and language disorders, hand-eye coordination problems and other psycopedagogical issues that the organization is taking into account with the help of psychologists and professionals of different fields.
