Save the planet using a new browser!

Everyday, we use Google to browse and surf on the web. Sometimes tough, Yahoo or Bing from Microsoft. There're not many differences. Nowadays, you have something new, something that helps you protecting the planet. That's Forestle, a german initiative that runs for one year. Some explanations.

Forestle directly comes from the English word "forest". It's also the new and trendy "green Internet search engine". As simple to use as Google or Yahoo!, it gives you good results and is intuitive. But with Forestle you make the difference: each browse save 0,1 square meter of rain forest.

How does it work?
With sponsored links. Companies pay to have underlined links on the result page, Forestle gets back the campain's profits. Yahoo! contributes to the project, providing the sponsored links. All of their income (minus about 10% administrative costs) is donated to the adopt an acre program, which is run by The Nature Conservancy – one of the most renowned environmental protection organizations in the world. They use the money, which is generated by Forestle, for the sustainable protection of the most precious rainforests on our planet.

Some data
With 0,1 m2 saved for each browse, Forestle has already contributed to preserve more than 2 479 460 m2 of rainforests. An average Internet user does about 1,000 searches annually. This means that you can save more than 100 square meters of rainforest every year simply by using Forestle. A totally green and free action for our planet.
