How to successfully send newsletters and mass mailing

Newsletters and mass mailing provide a better alternative to sending emails to multiple recipients individually. They can be used communicate within an organization as well as with the general public.

Mailing clients, such as Outlook and Thunderbird, are often used to send messages to a large group; however, specific programs, such as mailchimp, Sendgrid, and the newsletter/massmailing feature in Abcore webs, are more efficient.

Mailing clients pose various issues, such as the email server failing to deliver the message or the message “bouncing”. Some emails sent by mailing clients are labeled as spam, which can result in the sender or their Internet service provider (ISP) being blacklisted. If a sender is blacklisted, emails sent will not reach their recipients.
A email is marked as bounce  after trying to send a message several times that cannot be successfully delivered.

There are two types of bounces: hard bounce and soft bounce. A soft bounce occurs when an email is processed through the server but the process cannot be completed and the email is returned. Server overloads often occur if there is too much data and information to process or if the server is temporarily unavailable. A hard bounce occurs when the recipient’s server rejects the email completely, either because the domain or the recipient’s email does not exist. A hard bounce typically happens immediately after an email is sent. A bounce caused by a spelling error in the recipient’s email address is known as a syntax bounce and is the most common form of bouncing.

Most people blacklist email or ISP addresses they receive spam from to prevent it from entering their inboxes. An email is often labeled as spam when it’s sent to many recipients. Being blacklisted can cause a bad reputation in the cyber world, negatively affecting the growth of a business.

There are many advantages to using a newsletter service. It allows recipients to unsubscribe to emails, thus avoiding the spam issue and ultimately eliminating the risk of being blacklisted or encountering bounces. At IWith.org, using newsletters has helped us avoid said problems and proved to be very efficient.
Using newsletters can help improve your practice, expand your market and gain more attention. Take advantage of the services provided by IWith.org. If you’re not yet a member and are interested in leaning more, please contact us and we will see how we can help.
